A musician's story
Joseph Xavier J is a passionate musician whose journey began in childhood, playing percussion in his church. As he explored the keyboard and guitar, he discovered that rhythm was his true calling — which led him to pursue drumming professionally under renowned masters Srinath Rajenderan, Bharath Nambiar, Jagan, and Vineeth David.
He has completed multiple grade certifications and is currently pursuing Grade 8 in Western Classical Drums from Trinity College London.
Encouraged by God, family, masters, and well‑wisher JTG Raj (Founder of Raj Royal Musicals), he began his journey as a drum instructor in November 2018.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Media and has worked at two popular television channels — one as an audio engineer intern in a famous news channel, and another as a program producer for a well‑known show on an entertainment channel. He has also contributed to movie audio launches in the direction and coordination team.
While balancing his media career and teaching, he realised music was his true calling, resigned from his media job, and fully dedicated himself to performance and education.
A lifelong dream came true with the founding of J8 Music Academy on March 29, 2023 — later renamed Iva Music Academy. "Iva" means "Gift from God", reflecting divine blessing and the support of family, friends, and well‑wishers.
With 6+ years of teaching experience, he continues to guide students to refine their skills and connect with like‑minded artists.

Johnson K plays a vital role in the administration and smooth operation of Iva Music Academy. As the father of founder Joseph Xavier J, he has been a constant source of support and guidance in shaping the academy's vision.
With strong leadership and organizational skills, Johnson K ensures the academy functions efficiently — providing students and faculty with a well‑structured and inspiring learning environment.
Beyond administration, he serves as a mentor and motivator, helping Iva Music Academy grow into a trusted institution for music education. His unwavering belief in the power of music and education continues to drive the academy forward.
